According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 7.5 square miles (19.4 km2), of which 7.4 square miles (19.2 km2) is territory and 0.077 square miles (0.2 km2), or 1.23%, is water. There were 11,610 homeholds out of which 33.8% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 29.3% were non-families.
In the city, the populace was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
